The French company Schneider Electric is expanding its Dunavecse factory with an investment of over HUF 15 billion (approximately EUR 44 million). The Hungarian government is supporting the development with HUF 1.5 billion (EUR 3.7 million), as the investment will create 270 new jobs.

With this investment, the area of the Duna Smart Power Systems (DSPS) intelligent factory will be expanded by 18,000 square meters, reaching a total of 46,000 square meters. The new facility will focus on low-voltage distribution systems. Production and testing of low-voltage distributors will take place in Dunavecse. Design will primarily be handled by Schneider Electric’s other competence centers. The company’s ZEG plant in Zalaegerszeg will continue its full production activities following the Engineering-to-Order (ETO) method.

Schneider Electric—a global leader in energy distribution, energy management, industrial automation, and digitalization—has been present in Hungary since 1991. The company employed 150,000 people worldwide and generated over EUR 38 billion in revenue in 2024. In Hungary, Schneider Electric has 2,300 employees and operates factories in Zalaegerszeg, Gyöngyös, Kunszentmiklós, and Dunavecse. The company also runs a logistics center (CEElog) in Szigetszentmiklós, serving more than 20 countries in the region. Additionally, Budapest hosts the Business, Sales, and Customer Service Center (Front Office), as well as the European headquarters for its Energy and Sustainability Consulting (SB, Sustainability Business). The company’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) division and the Europe Services Hub, which supports on-site service operations across the continent, are also located in Hungary’s capital.
