Schaeffler Savaria Kft. invests billions in Szombathely

Schaeffler Savaria Kft. has invested a further HUF 5 billion (EUR 12.9 million) in its Szombathely site. The manufacturer of automotive components built a strategically important 6,200 square meters logistics center and a 2,200 square meters office building here.

The first plant at the Schaeffler site in Szombathely has developed continuously since it was founded in 1997. A 3,000 sqaure meters hall building was added in 2019. After a greenfield investment of over HUF 23.5 billion (EUR 60.7 million), Schaeffler built a 15,000 square meters production hall for the manufacture of components for electromobility by September 2021 with state subsidies of HUF 5 billion (EUR 12.9 million). The development created 200 new jobs.

Schaeffler has two plants in this country – in Szombathely and Debrecen – a distribution center in Budapest and an R&D center in Szombathely. The company employs almost 5,000 people, more than 3,000 of them in Szombathely. Schaeffler Savaria Kft. generated net revenue of HUF 333.9 billion (EUR 862.7 million) in 2022.
