Chinese car manufacturer SAIC Motor CEE is taking over the Hungarian import business of Duna Motors Kft. Under the agreement with the Duna Autó Group, SAIC Motor CEE will start the integration process from the end of 2024 to ensure a smooth transition for the dealer network, partners, customers and employees.
This is an important step in SAIC Motor’s long-term strategy to further strengthen the MG brand’s positions in Europe. The MG brand currently has a market share of 1.9% in Hungary. The new business model will focus on increasing the availability of electric and hybrid vehicles in Europe.
Duna Autó currently represents 27 brands and has a consolidated turnover of more than HUF 45 billion (EUR 110 million). The group also includes Duna Motors Kft. with a net turnover of almost HUF 12 billion (EUR 29.4 million) in 2023.
