Richter Gedeon Nyrt. – Plant in Germany expanded

Richter BioLogics has completed its investment of EUR 100 million in the capacity expansion in Bovenau (near Kiel). The wholly owned subsidiary of the leading Hungarian pharmaceutical group specializes in biologics based on microbial fermentation.

The expansion brings the total area of the plant to approx. 10,000 square meters. The new 300 and 1500 liter production lines offer additional flexibility for the simultaneous production of different products of up to 120 batches per year. The property has large laboratories for analytical tests as well as warehouses and technical areas. By the end of 2024, the number of highly qualified employees is set to double to over 400.

The buyout transaction was completed by Richter at the end of May. Richter BioLogics is a leading company in the field of microbiological contract manufacturing and development based in northern Germany with three locations, over 300 employees and an annual turnover of around EUR 60 million.
