Price freeze extended until July 1

The price cap on fuel and certain food products will remain in place until July 1. The main reason being the war, and until the war is over, prices will continue to rise. The government will do everything in its power to protect households from the consequences of increasing prices.

The price of food items like sugar, wheat flour, sunflower oil, pork and chicken meat and milk were frozen from February 1 this year at their October 15 level. The original price caps were scheduled for a period of three months. A maximum price of 480 forints/l (1.27 euros/l) for petrol or diesel (except premium fuels) has been in force at filling stations since mid-November.
