Following KFC, another chicken fast food chain is entering the Hungarian market. Popeyes, originally from New Orleans, specializes in spicy, Cajun-inspired fried chicken and other Louisiana-style specialties. Its first restaurant in Hungary is set to open in Budapest this fall.
The Popeyes fast food chain operates more than 4,300 restaurants in 35 countries worldwide, including several European nations such as Romania, the Czech Republic, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The brand’s launch in Hungary is being carried out by Fusion-BP Restaurants Kft., a subsidiary of Fusion Group Zrt., which also operates Burger King restaurants in Hungary, according to business magazine HVG.
