OTP Bank has officially closed the largest acquisition in its history. After the takeover of Nova KBM Bank, together with SKB Bank, which was acquired in 2019, OTP holds around 30% of the shares in the Slovenian banking market. The integration of the two subsidiaries, which should be completed by 2024, will create the largest foreign bank within the OTP Group.
Nova KBM will increase the total assets of the OTP Group, which exceeded EUR 80 billion in September last year, by more than EUR 10 billion.
The OTP Group is currently present in 11 countries and this number will increase to 12 with the ongoing acquisition of a financial institution in Uzbekistan. With over 33,000 employees, the OTP Bank Group looks after almost 16 million customers in these countries.
Incidentally, as part of the Emonika real estate project, OTP Ljubljana plans to build a hotel, apartments, a bar and a shopping center in the center of the Slovenian capital.
