Mol Magyarország – Hydrocarbon and shallow gas

Hydrocarbon exploration in the Üllő area of the Dány concession area looks promising. The oil company has been exploring for hydrocarbons on the outskirts of Üllő since the end of February. The 3D seismic measurements are being carried out by Acoustic Geofizikai Kft. Drilling could start at the end of the year at the earliest after the data evaluation.

At the same time, Mol is carrying out a shallow gas production program in Monostorpályi (Hajdú-Bihar county). Under the shallow gas program, new technologies are bringing gas to the surface from a shallower depth of 1,500 to 2,000 meters. The shallow gas program is also effective, as modern seismic methods provide the data. In Hungary, shallow gas accounts for about 5% of the total annual gas production of 1.4 bcm of gas.
