The German Kirchhoff Hungária Kft. will invest HUF 20 billion (approx. EUR 53 million) at its sites in Esztergom and Dorog. The development will create 80 new jobs. The two sites will produce body components for electric and hybrid cars.
Kirchhoff already employs more than 700 people in Hungary and operates in 11 countries, so competition for the investment was enormous.
Around 6,000 German companies employed more than 300,000 people in Hungary. Bilateral trade has also reached a new record: it rose by 12% to more than EUR 60 billion last year and exceeded 24 billion in the first four months of this year, with another record expected by the end of the year.
