Hungary issued Green Euro Bond

Hungary issued Green Euro Bond worth EUR 1 billion. The yield of the 4.25-year series, which expires on February 22, 2027 and pays a fixed interest rate of 5 percent, is 5.319 percent, announced the Government Debt Management Agency (ÁKK).

In spite of the volatile market environment, the bonds were oversubscribed by a factor of 4.5. The energy crisis has also increased the importance of green bonds, which are used to finance investments in renewable energy, green transport and developments.

The lead organizers of the issue were BNP Paribas, Citi, Erste Group, JP Morgan and OTP Bank.
