The Chinese automotive supplier is building a plant in Miskolc with an investment of HUF 80 billion (nearly EUR 200 million), creating more than 1,000 jobs. The Miskolc facility will be developed in three phases. It plans to rely on local suppliers as well as the expertise of the University of Miskolc.
This marks the group’s second investment in Hungary. In late 2022, through Halms Hungary Kft., the company announced the construction of an electric vehicle component plant in Debrecen, involving 300 jobs and an investment of EUR 45 million.
Currently, the automotive industry in Hungary employs around 160,000 people. Production volume exceeded HUF 13,000 billion (EUR 32.5 billion) last year. In the future, Hungary will produce 1 million cars, 2 million engines, and an equal number of batteries annually.
