Granit Bank will acquire the Hungarian leasing companies De Lage Landen Finance Zrt. and De Lage Landen Leasing Kft. from De Lage Landen International B.V.. The acquisition will enable the bank to expand its service offering and business activities.
According to the information, the transaction will be finalized after receiving approvals from the Hungarian National Bank and the Hungarian Competition Authority. Thereafter, the companies will continue to operate under the names Gránit Pénzügyi Zrt. and Gránit Lízing Kft.
The predecessors of the leasing companies have been present on the Hungarian market for more than 30 years. As a member of the Netherlands-based DLL Group, a leading global provider of asset-based financing solutions, they have been reliable financing partners for companies for 15 years and are market leaders in several sub-segments.
According to preliminary data, Gránit Bank has total assets of more than HUF 1,270 billion (EUR 3.3 billion) in 2023, a pre-tax profit of HUF 20 billion (EUR 52 million), more than 140,000 customer accounts and assets under management of more than HUF 2,400 billion (EUR 6.25 billion) at group level.
Gránit Banking Group acquired a stake in Equilor Befektetési Zrt. in 2022 and in Equilor Befektetési Zrt. in 2023, thereby implementing its strategy of expanding into the leasing market.
