From January 10, companies can apply for the Workplace Generational Transition Program, offering wage supplements to employers who want to ensure the transfer of work experience between pre-retired employees and young people starting their careers.
Employers applying for the program can allow a 64-year-old employee who is about to retire to work 6 hours instead of 8 hours in their final year and receive a mentoring grant of HUF 150,000 (EUR 396). Companies can receive a wage subsidy of up to HUF 244,500 (EUR 645) for new entrants.
There are currently around 12,000 registered jobseekers. The program is being launched as a pilot project with a budget of HUF 2.4 billion (EUR 6.3 million) and will be expanded if it proves successful.
