The prototype of the electric midibus model GANZ-SOR EBN8 has been completed in Baja. The project received funding of HUF 272 million (approx. EUR 680.000) from the EU’s GINOP+ program.
GANZ Transelektro Kft. (GTKB) founded the joint venture GANZ-SOR together with its Czech partner SOR. The development of the new bus took three years. While the body was manufactured in the Czech Republic, the drive system was developed in Hungary. System integration and software development also took place in Hungary.
The GANZSOR EBN8 low-floor electric midibus offers space for 45 passengers and has a range of up to 300 km.
After receiving type approval, the GANZ-SOR could produce 50 vehicles per year at the Baja plant.
The net turnover of GANZ Transelektro Kft. amounted to HUF 2.5 billion (6,25 Mio. Euro) last year. Profit after tax almost halved from HUF 335 million (EUR 837.500) to HUF 185 million (EUR 462.500).
