The Emil Frey Group will begin distributing the Leapmotor automotive brand in Hungary. This marks the first Chinese brand in the portfolio of the car importer, which operates in several Central European countries.

In Hungary, the company is launching two models. An electric city car and an electric family SUV. Starting in 2027, two new models will be introduced each year. Leapmotor models will be available from September at five dealerships, with plans to expand to ten in the medium term.

Emil Frey is the importer of several Stellantis automotive brands in Hungary and offers around 100 models, including small commercial vehicles. The company has more than 100 authorized partners nationwide, both dealers and service centers. Last year, Leapmotor International B.V. was established, also part of Stellantis. This spring, the company signed an exclusive import agreement with Swiss company Emil Frey Hungary for the distribution of the Leapmotor brand.

In 2024, Emil Frey Hungary sold around 11,000 vehicles and expects 12,500 sales this year. The importer’s revenue in 2024 was nearly HUF 125 billion (EUR 311 million).
