One of the world’s unique building technology developments of recent years, based on a Hungarian innovation, has entered the product phase. The heated glass produced by EGW Technologies uses window surfaces as heat emitters and is now available from the Hungarian manufacturer. EnerGoWindow is manufactured in a factory in Veszprém. The development of the product and the start of production cost HUF 100 million (EUR 261 thousand).
The essence of the EGW solution is that the heat-emitting surface is the glass itself, so no other heating devices or the usual heat-emitting surfaces – radiators, floor and wall heating – are required in the building. When using EGW technology as the sole heating solution, only 20-30% of the floor area to be heated needs to be covered with glass in addition to the electrical grid, which is almost always given in a new building. The heating surface does not change the function of the windows in any way, so it can still be opened, blinds can be placed on it, the glass does not reflect and transparency is not affected.
