EBRD loan for South Korean investment

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provides a USD 28 million long-term loan for the investment of the South Korean company, Solus Advanced Materials in Tatabánya. The plant in, Tatabánya, will produce ultra-thin copper foil for electric vehicle batteries. 

The Hungarian plant relies fully on scrap copper, it also contributes to the circular economy of the EV battery sector. The investment in Tatabánya is in line with the environmental goals of the Paris Climate Agreement and meets the requirements of the EU Taxonomy, for classifying environmentally sustainable economic activities.
