The Chinese Chery Group has signed an agreement with Grand Automotive to establish a general import and distribution partnership in Hungary.

Sales are expected to launch in late summer or early autumn with two SUV models, available as both conventional petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions. Two additional models will follow shortly thereafter.

The importer has already begun building a dealership network and aims to achieve nationwide coverage.

Chery Automobile is China’s fourth-largest car manufacturer and a major exporter of passenger vehicles, operating under multiple brands in over 110 countries and regions. The company owns a dozen production facilities and is planning to build additional plants, especially in Europe and Southeast Asia. Grand Automotive has been active in Hungary since 2019 as a member of the Israeli Taavura Group and currently operates four European centers.
