Hungary’s first green hydrogen plant was handed over in Bükkábrány. The plant produces hydrogen from renewable energy generated by the local solar park. It is located on a 32-hectare site that was revitalized by the recultivation of the former open-cast lignite mine of the Mátra Power Plant. One of Hungary’s largest solar parks is located on the outskirts of Bükkábrány and has a peak output of more than 22 MWp.
The energy park is owned by the Mészáros Group. In addition to the green hydrogen project, the group will carry out further experimental high-tech developments in the field of energy generation, storage and use in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.
