Bosch and Budapest University of Technology (BME) handed over the Competence Center for Innovative Vehicle Technologies in Budapest. The new competence center will focus on the development of electric vehicle powertrains.

With tools and simulation systems from the new center, students will be able to acquire up-to-date practical knowledge in addition to theory, in line with the trends and needs of the domestic and international industry.

The goal of the new competence center is to carry out research and development projects that serve the future of electromobility and can be implemented in innovative industrial practice. The aim is to improve the efficiency of electric powertrains, increase ranges and make available battery capacity and energy consumption more predictable. As a special project of the new competence centre, a vintage test car will also be put at the service of R&D, using state-of-the-art technologies.

The cooperation between Bosch and the university began 15 years ago. It is expected that within 3-5 years the results of the developments implemented in the center will also be visible in vehicles on the road.
