The Le Méridien resort is being built in Balatonfüred with an investment of HUF 22.5 billion (approx. EUR 60 million).
In addition to the 102-room five-star hotel, 24 luxury apartments are to be built. The BalaPort project also includes a 200-space underground car park, four restaurants and an expansion of the harbour capacities. The resort area will include 3,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as a fitness room, spa and sauna park.
This is the seventh hotel that Marriott International will manage in Hungary. The chain’s Hungarian portfolio already includes The Ritz-Carlton Budapest, a Budapest Marriott Hotel, a Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel Budapest, among others.
Richárd Szepesi, the founder and owner of the project has already developed several hotels, including the Minaro Hotel in Tokaj and the BalaLand resort on the southern shore of Lake Balaton.
