By the end of the year, a new vehicle hall will be built at the AVL Hungary site near Budapest for HUF 6.3 billion (approx. EUR 17 million). The Graz-based AVL Group is a global leader in the development of drive systems.
The Austrian company established itself in Hungary in 2002 and employs 475 people in Érd, Budapest, Zalaegerszeg and Kecskemét, primarily in the areas of R&D planning, simulations and test runs, software development, calibration and production planning.
Parallel to the new vehicle hall, another 3,250 sqm office building for 300 employees will be built in Budapest by June 2023. A competence center for the automotive industry is being built in Zalaegerszeg, and the topping-out ceremony was held here in December. The ongoing HUF 12.5 billion (EUR 33.6 million) projects in Érd and Zalaegerszeg will receive HUF 3 billion (EUR 8 million) in government funding. In return, AVL Hungary Kft. has committed to creating 250 additional jobs.
