Strong domestic companies are necessary for a secure food supply. In view of the Coronavirus pandemic and the Ukraine war, security of supply has become a factor of national security, explained Foreign Trade Minister Péter Szijjártó in Tiszafüred at the inauguration of a new factory of ABO HOLDING Zrt.
The investment volume of the mill company at the grain and corn processing site amounted to HUF 400 million (EUR 1.075 million), the state granted subsidies of HUF 200 million (EUR 500 thousand).
The government sees it as a realistic goal to increase the domestic ownership share in the agricultural and food sector to 80% in the foreseeable future. In the coming years, Hungarian agriculture will be around 9,000 billion forints (EUR 24 billion). Subsidies are received, which is three times the amount previously available.
