The state-owned energy holding company MVM is modernizing its high-voltage grid over a span of more than 200 km. This upgrade will extend from northeastern Hungary to the Southern Great Plain in the medium term.
MVM Démász Kft., the subsidiary, is currently investing HUF 5.3 billion (EUR 3.2 million) to renew the almost 17 km long 132 kV transmission line between Csongrád and Szentes. The work should be completed before the end of the year. This is a response to the increased energy demand from companies based in Szeged and Kecskemét. It also prepares for the connection of nearly 20 solar parks scheduled to be commissioned in the region soon.
