Warema Sun Shading Systems Hungary Kft. – a subsidiary of the German Warema Group – handed over a 2,600 square meters powder coating plant in Pécs, which is mainly involved in the manufacture of sun shading systems. The investment volume totalled around HUF 3 billion (EUR 7.8 million).
The company’s most recent development, which was subsidised by the state with more than HUF 600 million (EUR 1.5 million), was necessary in order to expand the product portfolio and increase the number of colour variants.
The main markets for the products from Pécs are Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as France. Warema currently employs 76 people and plans to increase its workforce to 120-130 by 2025. Warema Sun Shading Systems will generate net sales of around EUR 2.9 million and a profit after tax of EUR 76,000 in 2022.
The Warema Group has been present in Hungary since 2011. The acquisition of a plant for the production of plastic parts for the automotive industry in Gyál was followed by further sites in Szigetszentmiklós and Pécs.
