From 8 May, the leading Hungarian telecommunications service provider will pay its shareholders a dividend of HUF 44.7 per share. The Annual General Meeting approved the proposal of the Management Board of Magyar Telekom Nyrt. so that a total of HUF 41.6 billion (EUR 106.9 million) will be distributed to shareholders from the profit for the 2023 financial year.
The listed company had reported earnings after taxes of HUF 74.4 billion (EUR 191.2 million). This means that 44% of the profit will flow into reserves. The Annual General Meeting also decided to reduce the share capital by 3.3% to HUF 93.9 billion (EUR 241.3 million).
After fluctuating between HUF 350 and 450 for many years, the M-Telekom share price has exploded since last autumn: the HUF 600 mark was broken in November, the share price soared to HUF 800 in February 2024 and even to over HUF 900 in April.
