Schneider Electric – 500 new jobs in Dunavecse

The French company Schneider Electric is investing a further HUF 16 billion (EUR 41 million) in the next years. The development will create 500 new jobs in the climate-neutral plant in Dunavecse (Bács-Kiskun County). The government is supporting the investment with HUF 2.3 billion (EUR 5.8 million).

This is the French company’s fifth plant in Hungary. Medium-voltage equipment for electrical distribution systems is manufactured here. Schneider Electric has been present in Hungary since 1991 and currently employs about 2,000 people in four plants, a logistics center and two business service centers.

Last year, the production value of the Hungarian electronics sector reached a record high with growth of 36%, exceeding the HUF 10,000 billion (EUR 25.6 billion) mark for the first time. In the first two months of this year, the sector has already recorded a growth of 47% with now around 150,000 employees and an export share of 94%.
