The Japanese group Toyo Ink built a new plant in Újhartyán with an investment of HUF 7 billion (EUR 17 million). The Hungarian government supported the investment with HUF 700 million (EUR 1.7 million), which will create 45 new jobs.

Toyo Ink Hungary Kft. manufactures battery components for electric vehicles. The new factory located in Hungary’s Pest County will manufacture and distribute carbon nanotube (CNT) dispersions, which have been specially developed by researchers from Toyo Ink Group for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.

The high-performance dispersions produced at the Újhartyán site will be delivered to the South Korean company SK On, which is a leading supplier of high-energy-density batteries for electric vehicles to big automotive industry manufacturers such as Volkswagen Group.
