Knorr- Bremse produces the first Digital Automatic Coupler (DAC) prototypes at its Budapest plant. The technology will enable automated features and smart digital services for rail freight.
During the development of the high-precision couplings for freight trains, the focus is on safety, performance and a cost-optimized life cycle. The Budapest plant has an important position in the group’s coupling project, as the DAC project is one of the most important developments for rail freight transport. After the production of the first prototypes, series production is also expected to take place in Budapest from 2025.
