Magyar Telekom – Investments for infrastructure developments

The Magyar Telekom (MT) spent over HUF 300 billion (EUR 847.5 million) on mobile and fixed-line infrastructure developments over the past six years and HUF 44.7 billion (EUR 120,8 million) in the first three quarters of 2021 alone.

Last year, 401,000 new fiber connections were installed and 40,000 cable connections were upgraded to gigabit speeds, meaning that MT now offers gigabit speeds to over 3 million homes and businesses. There is currently a fiber optic network in 1,150 cities and communities. The developments will be continued in 2022.

The development volume is a record for Magyar Telekom itself, but is also unique in the country and outstanding within the Deutsche Telekom Group.
