The 4iG Nyrt. acquires 71.6% stake in Antenna Hungária Zrt through a capital increase of HUF 402 billion (EUR 1.13 billion). The state thus holds 28.4% of Antenna Hungária.
In the first step, 4iG retrieves its 100% stake in DIGI Távközlési és Szolgáltató Kft. and its subsidiaries, Invitech ICT Kft. and Telenor Podgorica, in Antenna Hungária. The contract with the state gives 4iG the opportunity to increase its ownership share to a maximum of 80% with another apport. The transaction creates a super holding for the telecommunications industry.
In February 2021, 4iG announced its entry into the telecom market with the aim of expanding in Hungary and the region together with Antenna Hungária. 4iG completed several transactions in the telecommunications industry over the past year, including the acquisition of Invitech, the leading Montenegrin mobile operator Telenor Podgorica and the second largest Albanian mobile operator ONE Telecommunications, and will soon acquire a majority stake in the Israeli company Spacecom. However, the largest transaction was the acquisition of DIGI. 4iG signed a contract with the Romanian seller for a purchase price of EUR 625 million.
