Another Chinese brand is entering the Hungarian new car market. Sales of Geely models are expected to start at dealerships in March-April.
By the end of this year, approximately 10–15 dealerships are expected to add the Geely brand to their portfolios. Sales will begin with two models, and the lineup will already expand by two additional models in the first year. Since spring 2025, Geely has already been present in Hungary with the Farizon brand for light commercial vans. Incidentally, after BYD, Geely is China’s second-largest manufacturer of electric vehicles.
Geely Holding is expanding dynamically. Among other things, it has already acquired 100% of Volvo Car Corporation, holds a stake in the Aston Martin Lagonda brand, founded a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz to develop the smart brand, and is a partner of Renault in the development of drivetrain technologies.
Geely operates most of its production facilities in China but also has plants in the United States, Belgium, and Sweden. In the medium term, the company plans to establish one or two additional production sites in Europe.
