Sano-Modern Takarmányozás Kft. is building a new feed production plant at its site in Csém with an investment volume of HUF 10 billion (EUR 26.3 million). The facility in Csém will reach an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes of animal feed, tripling the capacities of the site south of Komárom. The new plant, including a large warehouse covering 2,400 square meters, is scheduled for completion by October 2028.
From northern Hungary, Sano-Modern supplies not only the domestic market but also cattle and pig breeding farms in Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria.
The government is covering half of the investment costs. Under Hungary’s CAP plan through 2027, a total of one hundred times this amount of funding is earmarked to support the food industry. To date, more than 900 projects in the sector have already been supported through three major tenders. In the animal feed segment, around HUF 80 billion (EUR 211 million) have been invested in 73 facilities.
The Bavarian Sano Group has been present in Hungary since 1994, with the feed plant in Csém established in 2007. To date, the group has invested a total of HUF 35 billion (EUR 92.3 million) and acquired the agricultural company Solum Zrt. in Komárom.
