Since January 2025, six U.S. companies have announced new investments in Hungary. These projects are notable for their high added value, strong focus on research, development and innovation, as well as their role in creating jobs and strengthening domestic supply chains.

Flextronics, which employs around 6,000 people in Hungary, is investing HUF 2 billion (approx. EUR 5 million) to expand its research and development operations in Zalaegerszeg. Supported by the government, the project will increase the headcount at the company’s R&D center to 70.

The Hungarian government has also signed a strategic partnership agreement with Flextronics. The company exports 98% of its products, while more than 70% of its suppliers are domestic businesses. Flextronics is now the 99th company to sign such an agreement, raising the number of American strategic partners in Hungary to 16. In total, more than 1,700 U.S. companies currently operate in the country, employing over 100,000 people.
