Samsung SDI – R&D Center in Göd

South Korean battery manufacturer Samsung SDI has inaugurated an R&D center in Göd with an investment of HUF 22.5 billion (EUR 56 million).

This investment by Samsung SDI ranks among the largest R&D projects in Hungary’s history. The new center aims to optimize manufacturing processes. The state provided subsidies amounting to HUF 5.5 billion (EUR 13.6 million), as the research and development engineering jobs created are associated with high added value.

Since establishing its operations north of Budapest in 2018, Samsung SDI has formed partnerships with Hungary’s leading technical universities. The current project was specifically carried out in collaboration with Óbuda University and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).
