Companies can still purchase electric vehicles until the end of the year. Since February 2024, businesses have not yet fully utilized the allocated HUF 30 billion (EUR 7.3 million). The program was originally set to expire after one year, but the Ministry of Energy has now extended the call for applications.
The program was intended to support the purchase of modern e-fleets with up to 16 vehicles. Most companies have applied for just one vehicle and the maximum subsidy of HUF 4 million (EUR 9,800). So far, nearly 6,500 companies have applied for approximately 7,500 e-vehicles. These include 5,900 passenger cars, nearly 1,600 e-vans, ten minibuses, and five trucks.
In terms of brand popularity, BYD leads the way with 1,600 vehicles, followed by Tesla (800), then Hyundai, Volvo, Kia, Volkswagen, Cenntro, Citroën, Ford, and Opel.
