Praktiker is opening a new store in Debrecen, bringing its total number of stores in Hungary to 22. A 4,200 square meters sales area, along with a warehouse and showroom, was created in a previously vacant building. The project has generated 50 new jobs.
The Praktiker DIY chain has been present in Hungary since 1998 and has been 100% owned by the Hungarian Wallis Group since 2016. In addition to its physical stores, the company operates an online shop, with a total retail area of around 130,000 square meters and nearly 1,500 employees across the country.
In 2023, Praktiker achieved revenue of HUF 85.9 billion (EUR 211 million) and a net profit of HUF 1.4 billion (EUR 3.4 million).
