The manufacturer of oven-baked chips, Intersnack Magyarország Kft., has inaugurated a factory in Győr. The project was implemented with an investment volume of HUF 8 billion (approximately EUR 20 million) from its own funds.
In addition to a 25% increase in capacity, the application of modern technologies makes it possible to bake chips with 70% less fat. The total capacity for chips and snacks at the Győr location will reach 20,000 tons annually. Since its establishment in 1992, Intersnack has grown its number of employees from 20 to over 300.
Intersnack Magyarország Kft. increased its revenue by HUF 4.6 billion to HUF 30.6 billion (EUR 76.6 million), with HUF 13 billion (EUR 32.5 million) coming from foreign markets. The profit reached HUF 1.3 billion (EUR 3.2 million). The company sources nearly 15,000 tons of wheat annually from 60 local farmers and has approximately 550 suppliers in total.
