Mol Group – Hydrogen refueling station in Bratislava

The Mol Group has taken another step toward developing hydrogen mobility by constructing a hydrogen refueling station for buses and trucks in Bratislava.

The station was originally opened in 2022 on the premises of the SIA Refinery Bratislava, a subsidiary of the Mol Group. It is operated by Messer Slovnaft, a joint venture between Slovnaft and Messer Tatragas. Thanks to the latest development, the station now offers a higher pressure of 350 bar. This enables the refueling of hydrogen-powered buses and trucks for an extended driving range.

The largest green hydrocarbon facility in Central and Eastern Europe, with a capacity of 10 MW, was commissioned last year. It is located at the Mol Group refinery in Százhalombatta. The facility uses renewable electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, producing 1,600 tons of green hydrogen annually. Following the Százhalombatta plant, similar electrolysis units are now being planned for Bratislava and Rijeka.
