Krones Hungary Kft. – New laboratory for the University of Debrecen

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Debrecen has opened a new mechanical engineering laboratory, established with a HUF 20 million (approx. EUR 49,500) investment from Krones Hungary Kft.

After a construction period of two months, the laboratory was completed. The facility is equipped with ergonomic workstations, computer-aided design stations, specialized measuring instruments, and a smartboard. With this initiative, Krones Hungary actively contributes to the education of future engineers. The lab also serves as a hub for joint R&D projects between the university and the company.

The Krones plant in Debrecen is the company’s first European subsidiary outside Germany and began production in 2019. It was built in the city’s southern industrial park with an investment of around HUF 15 billion (EUR 37.1 million). It primarily manufactures machinery and equipment for Krones’ European partners. Krones Hungary Kft. currently employs 800 people in Debrecen.
